About 180,000 Visitors Attended the Museum during First 100 Days of Its Work
Excursions at the new railway exhibition site are still gathering high attention of residents and guests of St. Petersburg.
The staff of the Russian Railway Museum estimated the results of its work during the 100 days since the opening of the Museum. For instance, in the period of New Year’s holydays from 3 to 7 January 2018 alone, more than 23,500 visitors attended the Museum. In total, about 180,000 visitors attended the Museum since the start of its operation with 865 excursions was being performed by the Museum staff during this period.
One of the main goals during the Museum project implementation was to create a barrier-free environment for people with limited mobility. More than 200 visitors with restricted mobility has been able to access all the exhibits at the site since the beginning of November 2017.
Largest attention was traditionally paid to such rarities as tank locomotive Ь (soft sign), the only preserved passenger locomotive С68, legendary Soviet locomotives СО, ФД and П36 and dissected model of Эр-791 locomotive with inspection pit and water supply devices. Special attention is gathered by passenger diesel locomotives of ТЭП series, Czech electric locomotives ЧС, unique passenger cars (lounge car № 3 and Red Arrow train car) to say nothing of the ТЭП70БС locomotive driver simulator which became a favorite piece for 4000 young visitors of the Museum.
