The Russian Railway Museum has opened the exhibition "Ways of Justice. To the 180th anniversary of Anatoly Fedorovich Koni"

On June 26, 2024, the Russian Railway Museum opened an exhibition dedicated to lawyer, statesman and public figure, writer Anatoly Fedorovich Koni.

The exhibition presents personal belongings of A. F. Koni, rare documents, photographic materials, items of office furniture and everyday life of the railways of that era. The exhibition is located inside the baggage paddock of the early 20th century.

The exhibition intertwines the personal, official and creative biographies of this extraordinary man, as well as pages of the history of the legal system and the development of the railway sector of our state. The focus is on Kony's activities as a lawyer and statesman. The exhibition will tell you what a strong influence on improving the level of transport safety on the railways of our country was exerted by a comprehensive and thorough investigation of the crash of the Tsar's train on October 17, 1888, which was conducted by Koni.

"There are personalities in the history and culture of our Fatherland who have significantly influenced the development of certain areas of state and public life. One of such prominent figures is Anatoly Fedorovich Koni. Some pages of his personal life and professional activities related to the development of the railway business in the country remain little known, but no less significant. We will tell you about them at a new exhibition," said Vladimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway museum.

The exhibition was prepared with the participation of the Foundation for the Support and Development of the Historical Heritage of A. F. Koni. Materials for the exhibition were provided: Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian State Historical Archive, State Art and Architecture, Palace and Park Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo", Pavlovskaya Gymnasium.

The exhibition will last until December 31, 2024.
