The Russian Railway Museum is launching a series of games in virtual reality
Since September, 1 2026, the Russian Railway Museum has offered a series of games that use virtual reality glasses. One session – one game: “Mallard Steam Locomotive”, “Imperial Train”, “Imperial Train of Nicholas II”.
In “Mallard Steam Locomotive”, the player takes on the role of a young reporter. They will have to gather materials about the Mallard steam locomotive and send them to the newspaper’s editorial office. The game will introduce the participant to the characteristics of this steam locomotive and its history of setting a speed record.
You can find yourself in the Russian Empire in the game “Imperial Train”. The player will find themselves in 1896 and will explore three meticulously recreated carriages. The task is to find 13 items that will tell you about the royal family and their travels.
You can try your hand at being an engineer and build a train for the Russian emperor in the game “Imperial Train of Nicholas II”. The participant will build the train carriages and get acquainted with the travel life of the royal family. The game will allow you to recreate the most technologically advanced and expensive train of the Russian Empire at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.
Duration: 30 minutes. The current monthly schedule can be viewed when purchasing a ticket on the website.
If you are late for the session, the ticket cannot be exchanged or refunded.
Participation cost: 500 rubles per person (no discounts are available). An entrance ticket to the museum must be purchased additionally. For visitors over 14.
