The traditional exhibition of the Russian Railway Museum will be available at the Finlyandsky Railway Station from February 6 to 8
As part of the event dedicated to the 83rd anniversary of the arrival of the first train in Leningrad after the enemy blockade was broken, the Russian Railway Museum is opening an exhibition at the Finlyandsky Railway Station. The exhibition will be open for free from February 6 to February 8, 2026.
During the Great Patriotic War, the Finlyandsky Railway Station acquired crucial importance for Leningrad. It was the only operational railway junction in the besieged city. On February 7, 1943, just 19 days after the blockade was broken, the first train from the Mainland arrived at the Finlyandsky Railway Station.
The exhibition of the Russian Railway Museum will tell about the feat of railway workers and recreate the moments of that era: visitors will see original documents, photographs and personal belongings of railway workers and military personnel.
The visit to the exhibition is free according to the operating mode of the station.
"The first train from the Mainland has become a symbol of hope and the steadfastness of the spirit of the inhabitants of the besieged city. The modern generation honors the heroes of those years and remembers the price of freedom," said Vladimir Odintsov, Director of the Russian Railway Museum.
