Plants from BAM have turned green in the Russian Railway Museum
In front of the entrance to the Russian Railway Museum, a decorative flowerbed with plants from the famous Baikal-Amur mainline — BAM-50.Garden is planted.
Larch, pine, rhododendron, irises, cranberries and many other perennial plants traditionally grow in the territories through which BAM passes. Trees, shrubs and grasses are planted in several tiers, which creates the impression of a green island transferred from the Siberian taiga to St. Petersburg.
The 50th anniversary of the Baikal-Amur Mainline is celebrated in 2024. By this date, a large-scale exhibition "Between the Past and the Future" was opened in the museum, dedicated to the main stage of the construction of the Baikal-Amur mainline from 1974 to 1984. You can study the history of the highway and see its modern development on a special website bam-rzd.ru , available in the installation in the exhibition.
Now, in front of the entrance to the museum there is a new natural "monument" for the anniversary — a flowerbed, reminiscent of the nature that surrounded the brave railway builders.
