Russian Railways Museum goes online

The Russian Railways Museum has been closed to visitors since March 20, 2020 due to the Decree of the Government of St. Petersburg “On measures to counteract the spread in St. Petersburg of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19)” dated March 13, 2020 N 121.

Museum Director Vladimir Odintsov emphasized that caring for the health of museum visitors is an absolute priority in work. “The main thing now is the safety of our visitors. If possible, it is better to stay home and not risk your health and the health of loved ones. Modern technologies allow us to tell about the history of the railways of Russia and acquaint with the unique collection of the museum remotely. We will expand this format”.

So, all previously planned activities, including the program for children during the spring school holidays, as well as all excursions, are canceled. At the same time, a special online excursion program is being prepared, including for children and adolescents. It is also planned to prepare and record a number of video tours, conduct online broadcasts on the museum's exposition.
