Russian Railway Museum will take part in the annual campaign dedicated to International Museum Day
On 18 May 2018, Russian Railway Museum in honor of International Museum Day is open to all visitors free of charge from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm (access to the museum is possible until 17:00). There is a free ticket for the entrance to the Museum. The museum's services (excursions, locomotive driving simulator) are paid according to the current price list.
Museum Day is celebrated all over the world since 1977, when the 11th International Council of Museums decided to establish an annual professional holiday.
The campaign "Night of Museums" starts the next day. It is an international event that takes place annually in 42 countries of Europe. Almost 2000 museums do not sleep once a year, opening their doors to everyone who is interested in seeing the museum at an unusual time of day.
Russian Railway Museum will take part in the citywide campaign "Night of Museums– 2018". On 19 May 2018, the Museum will be closed in the morning and open at 6:00 pm. The campaign will be held until 6:00 am on May 20, then during the day the Museum will be closed. The theme of 2018 in St. Petersburg is "Metamorphoses".
The entrance will be carried out on single tickets, which can be purchased during the "Night of Museums " at the ticket offices of the Russian Railway Museum and at all sites participating in the campaign. The cost of a single ticket is 400 rubles. Accompanied by a parent who bought a single ticket, a child under the age of 7 can go free of charge. The usual entrance tickets in our museum during the "Night of Museums" are not sold.
